When and where do I move-in?
- Check in begins at your residence hall on Saturday, August 15th at 8AM for women and at 1PM for men. If you're living on campus you should have received a mailing with the details on your move-in. You can also find information on UT Housing's website.
When is Sorority Recruitment?

- Sorority Recruitment events start August 15th @ 7PM in the Alumni Memorial Building and end on August 23rd with Bid Day. For more information visit http://sorority.utk.edu and click on “Recruitment.”
When is Fraternity Recruitment?
- Fraternity Recruitment begins Monday, August 24th and ends with Bid Day on August 28th. For more information visit http://fraternity.utk.edu and click on “The Torch.”
Where do I get my books?
- The UT Book and Supply Store will have extended hours during move-in and Welcome Week. If you did book reservation, simply bring your UT ID to the UT Book and Supply Store in the University Center to pick up your books. If you did not make a book reservation, print your class schedule from CPO (http://www.cpo.utk.edu) and then head over to the UT Book and Supply Store.
Where can I eat?
- That’s a more complicated question than you think. UT Campus Dining has all of your answers though. Check them out online at http://www.utdining.com.
How do I connect to the internet on campus?
- Each residence hall room has ethernet connections for each resident. After plugging an ethernet cable into the wall and your computer, simply open a web browser and you will be guided through the registration process.
- If your web browser isn't taking you anywhere then you can try http://support.utk.edu. You can register your game systems, iPhones, etc. by browsing to http://netreg.utk.edu.
- The Office of Information Technology provides free ethernet cables available at the OIT Helpdesk located in The Commons of Hodges Library.

- The Office of Information Technology (OIT) supports all computers and networks across campus. You can call them at (865) 974-9900 or 4-9900 on a campus phone. The OIT Helpdesk provides technical support in-person as well. The OIT Helpdesk is located on the second floor of Hodges library in The Commons. More information at: http://oit.utk.edu/helpdesk
- Registration on UT’s wireless network is as easy as selecting “ut-open” as your wireless network on your laptop and then opening a web browser to be guided through the registration process.
Where can I get a cable for my TV?
- The university does not provide cables for connecting televisions. However cables can be purchased at UT Book and Supply Stores across campus including satellite stores in Hess Hall, Presidential Courtyard, and their main location in the University Center.

Where are my classes?
- On your class schedule, available on Circle Park Online (http://www.cpo.utk.edu), there should be a building code and room number under the “Place” column. The building codes list is accessible from the UT Maps website.
Where is my class schedule?
- Circle Park Online (CPO) is the website where students can drop and add classes. It’s also where you can find your class schedule. Circle Park Online’s web address is http://www.cpo.utk.edu
Where do I park? Where do I get a parking pass?
- Parking passes are on sale at the beginning of the fall semester at the University Center Ballroom. Where you park is determined by the type of pass you have. Non-Commuter (N) passes can only park in N lots. These lots are designated with signs that include a large “N” followed by a number. (The number simply identifies which lot it is.) Whereas Commuter passes can only park in C lots. Similarly these lots are designated with signs that include a large “C” followed by a number.

Where can parents stay when they're moving me in?
- There are no accommodations on campus for parents to spend the night during Welcome Week. Many accomodations can be found close to campus, some even within walking distance. For more information check out the Admissions website.

Where do I go if I get sick or hurt?
- Along with tuition, students pay a Programs & Services fee that covers their use of the Student Health Center. The Student Health Center is free for all students and does not require any type of insurance or payment for normal visits. Students can make appointments by calling (865)974-3648 or 4-3648 from any campus phone. The Student Health Center has 9 full time physicians and can perform x-rays and blood work (lab fees may apply). If there is an emergency after hours, students can use UT Medical Center. UTPD [(865) 974-3114] can provide free transportation to the hospital for a student whose condition is not life threatening. If the condition is life threatening UTPD will dispatch an ambulance.
Where is the Pedestrian Walkway, Amphitheatre, University Center?
- UT has a great maps website. You can also check out this helpful Google Map with some major campus locations.
More specifically: The Pedestrian Walkway is located on Andy Holt Ave. behind Hess Hall and Hodges Library. The Amphitheatre is located on the Pedestrian Walkway near the Humanities and Social Sciences Building (HSS). The University Center is located at Cumberland Ave. and Philip Fulmer across from the College of Law.
Where can I find ATMs?
- The “money wall” at the University Center consists of ATMs for many of the major banks in the Knoxville area. The “money wall” is located on Philip Fulmer Way between Cumberland Ave. and Andy Holt Ave. Banks on the money wall include: Bank of America, BB&T, Eastman Credit Union, First Tennessee, Green Bank, Home Federal Bank, ORNL Federal Credit Union, Regions Bank, SunTrust, and UT Federal Credit Union.
How can I add money to my AllStar account?
- The VolCard website allows students and parents to add money to an AllStar or campus dining account. Students login with their Net ID and password. Parents will need their student’s UT ID # and date of birth.
